There is no excuse for this. They were all babies—less than 6 months old. It doesn’t have to be this way.
Note: I wasn’t planning on releasing a video today. I wish I never had to make this video. Or any of my videos. This isn’t something we should have to be told NOT to do. Please watch the video above for the footage of the scene and my full commentary. I’ve included a brief summation of the events below.
On Wednesday October 5, 2016, a truck full of pigs overturned in front of Fearmans Pork in Burlington, Ontario. Pigs were trapped inside, screaming. Some escaped and wandered the streets, outside for the first time in their life.
Those able to move on their own were walked through the parking lot of the slaughterhouse to their death. Injured pigs were not “fit” to be “processed”.
They waited in the grass for hours. Activists begged to give them sanctuary—they had homes waiting for them. Fearmans refused to show mercy and executed them, trying to hide their barbarity with flimsy cardboard.
This is not an isolated incident of rare cruelty. This is a rare incident of systematic cruelty being thrust into the open.
THIS is what you pay for when you eat meat, dairy, or eggs.
YOU can change this.
There is no excuse

Please don’t be sad and don’t give up,
Because of you I have gone from vegetarian to Vegan.
Emily Barwick says
Carl, thank you so much for telling me this!! That means so very much to me. Messages like this keep me going. Thank you for making the change and opening your heart and mind!

“I’ve Lost All Hope For Humanity”
– humane – definition, “marked by compassion, sympathy, or consideration for humans or animals.”
We need to put the humane back in humanity.
I cannot wait for civilization, even humanity as a whole, to disappear. Some figures show that it might happen within the century, thanks to our environmental destruction.
In the meantime, you and all other individuals who speak up and encourage others to follow a vegan diet and fight for non-humans to be free should continue to do this great labour, even in all hopelessness, for the animals who share Earth in our lifetime to have the opportunity to live without the horror of what we do to them.
It is a colossal task, but I do know that many of us appreciate it greatly and are tremendously grateful to all of you.

The saddest thing is vegans see this sit all the way through feel the horror but the corpse crunchers chanting bacon just can’t be bothered.
Question is how to break through the preaching to the choir barrier. Like you I am about to give up. the ones I see most often are 100% asleep and living on autopilot. Ya just have to be there. Alternate universe. SMH
