Important Update from Emily About User Accounts
Hi there! I am currently re-working a lot of things on the website. The largest change is that I am removing user accounts functionality from the site. This does not mean a removal of any of the features and resources on the website! In fact, it opens up the resources to everyone without a need for registering at all!
You can still take eCourses, leave comments, use the Guided Search and save your results, sign up for the newsletter, and everything else!
For Existing Account Holders:
You should have received an email notification from me about the change. If you missed it, here is the relevant information:
- Any comments you have left while logged into your account will remain present on the website.
- If you are subscribed to the newsletter, your subscription will remain intact. You will be able to edit your subscription preferences by following the profile link in the footer of any newsletter email.
- You may still take the eCourses, but progress and quiz statistics will no longer be stored.
Why Am I Removing Accounts?
When I rebuilt the website, all of this was new to me. I’ve found over time that the management of user accounts has proved to be extremely complex and time-consuming. I want to dedicate as much of my time as possible to the creation of content and resources, rather than technical troubleshooting and maintenance.
Additionally, user registration being required for eCourses added an additional step/barrier to people wanting to access the resources.
Again, this has been a difficult decision, but I hope that you understand why I’m needing to make this change. Please know that everything on the website is and will remain openly-accessible and free forever!
If you have any questions about this change, please feel free to get in touch.
