You won’t believe this! See the newly recovered BANNED footage from Milk Life’s “Dairy Milk Vs. Almond Milk Spelling Bee” commercial. Find out what they didn’t want you to see, and hear the commercial’s director have a total meltdown!
In 2015, America’s Milk Companies released a 16 second commercial spot through their Milk Life® campaign – “Almond Milk vs. Dairy Milk Ingredient Spelling Bee“. Recently, footage was recovered revealing that the 16 second commercial was meant to be a 15 minute mini-infomercial. The additional spelling bee words were BANNED from production.[tweet this] The video above exposes this footage for the first time ever and captures the director in a complete and total meltdown. Note on the written article: Please see the video above for the full effect of this report and the bizarrely humorous breakdown of the commercial’s director, as well as a chance to spot the spelling errors courtesy of “Jerry.”
Below you will find information on each banned word along with full citations for every fact stated, as well as a bibliography and further resources.
Final 16 Second Commercial’s Transcript:

Girl: Lecithin. L-E-S
Spelling Bee Moderator: [sounds “wrong” buzzer]
Spelling Bee Moderator: Your word is “Milk”
Spelling Bee Moderator: [pulls lever for confetti]
Narrator: Milk wins! Ingredients you can spell!
Recovered BANNED WORDS with factual backing:
(see video for additional commentary & director-breakdown absurdity)
Lecithin, n. (take two):
a substance first isolated from egg yolk in 1845, it’s also found in cow’s milk.
Most lecithin food additives today come from soybeans or sunflower seeds, with almond milk brands opting for sunflower lecithin, as soy is often villainized, or forgoing lecithin altogether.
Many consumers intentionally supplement their diets with plant-derived lecithin for the purported health benefits.
Despite its bad rap soy lecithin is still widely utilized as a beneficial and sought-after ingredient to livestock feed, including farmed fish, pigs, and dairy cattle.
The 16 second commercial’s entire “argument” is the evil of the ingredient “lecithin” within almond milk. Lecithin is simply a name for phospholipids, composed of phosphoric acid with choline, glycerol or other fatty acids. It’s often used interchangeably with phosphatidylcholine, which is actually a component of lecithin.
Most importantly: it’s present in cow’s milk. Additionally, soy lecithin, the most “villainized” of all additives, is not used in almond milks but is a common (and sought after) ingredient in dairy cattle feed.[tweet this]
the effect milk has on kids’ colons!
Dr. Michael Greger: “Bottom line, for all children with constipation who do not respond to treatment, a trial of the elimination of cow’s milk should be considered…studies from around the world have subsequently confirmed these findings, curing up to 80% of kids’ constipation by switching to soy milk or rice milk. A 2013 study got constipated kids off all dairy and 100% were cured.”
the disgusting yellowish-whitish goo that oozes from the infected udders of dairy cows; present in commercial milk.
From “The Extremism of Veganism“: “Dairy cows are pumped full of antibiotics and growth hormones, all of which seep into their milk. In fact, there’s an official number of pus cells allowed in milk, euphemistically referred to as the ‘somatic cell count.’
In the United States, around 22 million pus cells are allowed per single fluid ounce of milk with global allowable limits ranging from just under 12 million to 29.5 million.”
Prostate Cancer, n.:
an all-natural condition milk helps grow big and strong!!
Dr. Michael Greger: “They found that cows’ milk stimulated the growth of human prostate cancer cells in each of 14 separate experiments, producing an average increase in cancer growth rate of over 30%. In contrast, almond milk suppressed the growth of these cancer cells by over 30%.”
Crib Death, n. [alternate spelling: SIDS]:
the leading cause of death for healthy infants after one month of age—especially healthy infants if they’re drinking milk!
Dr. Michael Greger: “Attacks of apnea, where babies temporarily stop breathing, and muscular atony, where babies go limp, after exposure to cow’s milk…cow’s milk, is also responsible for triggering pseudo-allergic reactions and other abnormalities seen in crib death.”
Rape Rack, n.:
alliterative euphemism used in the dairy industry; the friendly restraints dairy cows are held in during repeated, forceful inseminations
From “The Extremism of Veganism“: “Cows are mammals, just like us. And mammals produce milk for one reason: to feed their babies. So in order to have a constant supply of cow’s milk for human consumption, we need a constant supply of pregnant cows. The restraining apparatus used to secure the cows is literally referred to within the dairy industry, at least in America, as a ‘rape rack'”.
the fun trip baby cows take right after birth so they don’t drink up the milk cows make for us!
From “The Extremism of Veganism“: “If the calf is a male, he is sent to a veal farm where he is tied down, unable to move, or locked in a cage where he cannot even turn around until he’s slaughtered while still only a few weeks old. The daughters of the dairy industry are still separated from their mothers. But they’re kept around to take their mother’s place and keep the money machine going and keep the milk flowing.”
dairy cow family reunions!
to bring mothers, sons & daughters together again through the magic of milk!
From “The Extremism of Veganism“: “The bodies of dairy cows generally give out at age 4 or 5 and they are regarded as ‘spent,’ despite their natural lifespan of 20 years or more. They’re sent to slaughter for cheap meat and pet food, deemed unfit for human consumption.
Veal, an industry that even many meat-eaters oppose, wouldn’t exist without dairy. Every cup of yogurt, every scoop of ice cream and every glass of milk is directly connected to the deaths of those baby calves.”
Throughout the above footage, the director has a progressive meltdown over her team’s incompetence and, in the end, demands that someone “dump all the milk from catering and send someone out for soy or almond or rice or whatever!”
Don’t buy the white lie.[tweet this] To learn the full truth for yourself, please refer to the resources below.
The dairy industry is inherently cruel and cows milk is inherently damaging to human bodies.

I saw the commercial last night for the 1st time. I noticed the banner behind the students had ingredients spelled incorrectly, which I thought was funny since it’s a spelling bee.

Loved this. So informative. If more people saw this then more people would stop using dairy.
I do remember seeing this commercial. I am so glad the truth is finally coming out about dairy.

Hey! I’m enjoying this clip as I do with all your posts!!
Just a comment. When you are talking about pus you mention cows “utters”. I think you mean “udders”. I only wanted to correct you because I’m sure those that like to pick holes in vegan clips will do.
So heads up.

Thank you so much for the comment Natalia! And yes, it is “udders”– there are a number of “hidden” spelling errors in this piece for those paying attention :P It’s more of the “Jerry” character’s errors. I think you have 2 others you can find ;D

Totally giggled my way through that. I love your mind. :)
