Recommended Posts for vegan activists

Emily Moran Barwick of Bite Size Vegan is shown holding her arms up as if indicating a gap size. To the left of her are the words: ” Bridging the gap. Vegan Non-vegan”

Are your words working against you? As activists, our language choices can be our greatest asset, or our most self-defeating liability. When we’re mindful of who we’re trying to reach, the effectiveness and integrity of our message increases exponentially.

How to Speak Non-Vegan | Effective Activism Through Mindful Language

Emily is seen sat facing the camera with “Vegan wake up call” in large white letters emblazoned on the image next to her.

A Wake Up Call For Vegans

The text "Non-vegans deserve the truth" next to Emily Moran Barwick, founder of Bite Size Vegan, delivering the speech "Are You Advocating Cruelty? | Truth in Vegan Outreach"

Are You Advocating Cruelty? | Truth in Vegan Outreach (Speech)

Emily Moran Barwick of Bite Size Vegan is shown on an outdoor stage looking out towards the crowd and speaking into a microphone.

This was when my words failed me. When my speech fell apart before my eyes. This is me—raw and unscripted. Effective activism does not require elegance. Compassion does not require a college degree. The animals need every voice.

JUST SPEAK! – Raw Animal Activism

Emily Moran Barwick of Bite Size Vegan is shown looking into the camera with a rye look upon her face.

Learning how to talk about veganism is often more challenging than going vegan. How do you talk to non-vegans about important issues in an approachable way? How do you help people make the connection?

How To Talk To Non-Vegans Without Being An A-Hole

This is a message to everyone trying to make a difference for the animals, the planet, and our society. To every activist out there fighting this fight every day and wondering if they’re making an impact. It’s a message I believe we all—myself very much included—need to hear.
